Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will lead multiple product development teams within a single Research and Development (R&D) organization, guiding R&D staff toward meeting the agreed R&D targets. You will manage, coach and develop resources individually and as a team. You will also support the Product Managers, the Technical Product Managers, the R&D project managers and the developers to manage technology and platform and particularly keep a focus on Intellectual Property (IP) for our existing and future products.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Develop R&D team capabilities by ensuring upskilling, professional development, and effective cross-functional collaboration to support current and future product development.
  • Serve as a technical resource while cultivating and maintaining positive internal and external relationships, with emphasis on stakeholder management and collaboration.
  • Cultivate an innovative team environment by keeping current on technology, customer, and market trends, and promoting new ideas and product enhancements.
  • Plan and oversee capacity, resource allocation, and budgets to ensure projects run efficiently, processes improve continuously, and deliverables meet scope, cost, and quality targets on schedule.

Qualifications for the role:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.E. / B.Tech.) in a relevant field with at least 15 years of R&D experience, including demonstrated experience in line management.
  • Lead and manage R&D teams to meet targets while coaching, developing team members, and enhancing team capabilities in line with product and technology goals
  • Provide technical leadership and shape strategic direction through contributions to product development, technology platforms, and innovation efforts
  • Oversee end-to-end R&D activities including product development, project management, risk management, and use of methodologies such as V-Model and Agile
  • Promote a culture of innovation, collaboration, and quality through cross-functional teamwork, clear communication, and continuous improvement
  • Build and sustain durable stakeholder relationships across R&D, product management, and global teams to ensure effective collaboration
  • Oversee intellectual property, facilitate knowledge transfer and organizational learning, and plan resources and capacity that align with business objectives
