Role Overview
We are looking for a strong technical leader who combines deep hands-on engineering expertise with the ability to influence teams and drive execution. This role begins as a highly hands-on technical lead and is expected to evolve into a broader leadership position over time, owning delivery, mentoring engineers, and shaping the technical direction of the team.
You will work on complex system-level validation, automation, and productization for SAN and network platforms, while helping build a culture of ownership, engineering excellence, and continuous improvement. A key expectation from this role is the ability to operate effectively within a
single functional team distributed across multiple geographies, collaborating seamlessly across sites to drive execution, alignment, and delivery outcomes.
In addition to system-level engineering, this role will help drive the next phase of engineering evolution through
AI-augmented automation, intelligent validation, and productivity acceleration across the team.
This position requires
a minimum of 15+ years of experience in complex system productization, validation, or engineering leadership roles.
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrate deep hands-on technical capability in testing, validating, and debugging complex system-level issues across SAN and IP-based platforms
- Own end-to-end validation strategy, execution, and quality outcomes for critical features and releases
- Design and drive scalable test strategies, automation frameworks, and validation methodologies
- Lead by example through strong technical execution and structured problem solving
- Influence and mentor engineers to raise technical depth, ownership, and engineering rigor
- Identify gaps in quality, automation, and engineering workflows and drive improvements
- Drive adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices to improve validation depth, defect detection, and productivity
- Explore and implement intelligent automation for:
- Automated test generation and optimization
- Failure triage and root-cause acceleration
- Test prioritization and coverage intelligence
- Engineering productivity and workflow automation
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Development, Product Management, and Customer teams to improve product testability and customer outcomes
- Drive customer-focused validation, qualification, and release readiness
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 15+ years of relevant experience in complex system/software validation and productization
- Strong hands-on experience in system-level testing of complex platforms
- Deep understanding of test strategy, debugging, and large-scale validation
- Proven ability to lead technically and influence without formal authority
- Strong experience in Python-based automation and scalable automation frameworks
- Practical exposure to automation-driven productivity and engineering workflow improvements
- Solid Linux/Open Source systems experience
- Experience mentoring engineers and driving technical excellence
- Strong problem-solving, prioritization, and execution skills
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Ability to operate effectively in a cross-geo, single functional team model
