About the role

The role supports the Pest R&D Entomology team by executing laboratory, semi-field, and field bio-efficacy evaluations to assess the performance of new and existing pest control products and formulations. The role ensures accurate data generation through strict adherence to SOPs, laboratory quality standards, safety practices, and scientific integrity while working independently to meet project timelines, including conducting biologically relevant testing during night or low-light conditions when necessary.

The role applies strong entomological expertise to improve experimental design, testing efficiency, and bio-efficacy processes through continuous improvement and validation. Biological data are analysed using basic statistical approaches and translated into clear, actionable insights to enable faster and smarter R&D decisions. Effective scientific communication is a key expectation, with responsibility for well-structured documentation and standard PowerPoint presentations that clearly communicate results, insights, and recommendations to internal stakeholders.

Your responsibilities

• To support, conduct & participate in all bio-efficacy experiments, validation and evaluation of products/ formulations within Pest R&D and Entomology team. This includes insect knockdown tests, landing & probing tests, arm in cage, repellency test etc. More tests can be added in future as and when they become appropriate and relevant.
• Screen new and existing products and formulations to assess efficacy and performance.
• Produce, maintain, and supply healthy insect cultures for R&D studies.
• Conduct field and semi-filed experiments outside of laboratory that may involve work during hours that is most appropriate to run such experiments (i.e., mosquito roach active times at night/dark conditions).
• Visit field for collections of insects as and when required.
• Support rapid decision‑making by delivering timely and reliable bio‑efficacy results
• Apply strong entomological knowledge to improve experimental design and testing efficiency
• Analyze biological data and apply basic statistical concepts to derive actionable insights
• Prepare clear, visually strong, and standard PowerPoint presentations to communicate results, insights, and recommendations to internal stakeholders
• Demonstrate interest and capability in scientific writing, documentation, and structured presentations.

• The experience we're looking for
• Master's degree or specialization in Urban Entomology / Medical Entomology
• PhD is preferred
• Experience:
• Officer: 1–2 years of relevant experience
• Senior Officer: 2–3 years of relevant experience
• Industry experience in pest control or related R&D environments is desirable
• Hands-on experience in Urban Entomology and/or Medical Entomology
• Identification and rearing of urban pests or related genera
• Basics of biological data collection, interpretation, and statistical analysis
• Strong laboratory and experimental discipline
• Ability to work independently with ownership, innovation, and integrity
