Job Description
Opportunity:
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Application Developer in the area of Power Management Systems to design, develop, implement, and support software applications used in power system monitoring, control, automation and energy management networks. The role involves working closely with power system engineers, automation specialists to develop reliable and scalable solutions for real-time power management, electrical asset monitoring, energy optimization, and grid connectivity. Senior Application Developer is responsible for the design, development, simulation, validation, and lifecycle management of Power Management System (PMS) control algorithms. The role would be responsible for the ownership of control algorithm development, simulation, validation, and technical leadership of the development stream.
How you'll make an Impact:
. Perform simulation of the power system operations and verification of controls in a software in-loop environment .
. Plan and execute power system and control engineering aspects, including hardware and software concepts, specifications, and documentation.
. Lead the application development team and provide technical guidance for control strategies.
. Develop and maintain MATLAB/Simulink models for PMS and convert control concepts into reusable controller libraries.
. Ensure project execution complies with internal processes and guidelines.
. Develop dynamic models of generators, breakers, loads, and electrical networks. Validate controller performance under various operating scenarios and abnormal conditions. Ensure successful export and integration of MATLAB-developed control logic into the CODESYS PLC environment. Collaborate with PLC application developers Review designs, source code, simulations, and test results.
To be responsible for the deliverables assigned in terms of quality, on-time delivery, and proactive communication of progress.
Your Background:
. Experience in software development for industrial or utility environments.
. Ability to work independently, take initiative, and solve complex problems.
. Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with at least five years of industrial experience in power system analysis.
5+ years hands-on MATLAB/Simulink development.
Experience with industrial automation, PMS, SCADA, or Distributed Control Systems. Knowledge of or experience with simulation tools such as PSCAD, PSS®E, Dig SILENT Power Factory, EMTP, or Python.
Interest in or experience with programming (e.g., Python, PLC programming), control theory, signal processing, and dynamic modeling. Exposure of DevOps repository management, branching strategies, and development workflows is desired Ensure high-quality, maintainable, and reusable control library development.
Strong communication and collaboration skills required to work closely with cross-functional teams. Experience leading development teams and technical work packages. Drive technical decisions for control algorithms and simulation environments.
