Job Purpose
A process development engineer designs and plans production systems to be safe, cost-effective, sustainable, and meet quality requirements. Working as part of the Process Innovation R&D team, review the company's current production processes, develop new processes and design modifications to the current system to meet company HS&E, production and quality goals as well as plot the technology path to achieving corporate sustainability plans. Along the way, identify ways to enhance R&D asset capability (lab, pilot, and commercial) to de-risk technology development.
Job Context & Major Challenges
- Integrate inherit safe design into process development and innovation
- Partner with manufacturing team to identify technology enhancements in the existing asset base
- Aid in developing tools, models, methodology to plot a process technology pathway that meets corporate objectives
- Critical evaluation of external technology
- Aid in the development of R&D capital (lab, pilot, commercial) plans
- Develop strong working relationships with Manufacturing, Marietta and Taloja-based R&D staff
- Execution of Process Trials in our factories
- Aid in development of Intellectual Property strategy to support technology development plan
