Flychem is looking for a passionate and execution-oriented R&D Chemist to support development of specialty intermediates and functional ingredients across cosmetic, pharmaceutical, and agrochemical platforms. The role will involve laboratory synthesis, reaction monitoring, purification, process optimization, analytical support, and scale-up assistance for heterocyclic and specialty chemical projects. The candidate will work closely with senior R&D scientists on development and commercialization projects for both in-house manufacturing and external manufacturing partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Support laboratory synthesis of specialty intermediates and functional ingredients
- Execute reactions related to pyridine, pyridone, triazine, imidazole, pyrimidine, cyclic ketone, UV filter, and resorcinol chemistries
- Perform reaction monitoring, filtration, crystallization, extraction, distillation, drying, and purification activities
- Handle laboratory reactors, glassware, and analytical instruments
- Support process optimization and yield improvement studies
- Maintain laboratory records, reaction logs, and technical documentation
- Assist in pilot-scale and scale-up activities
- Coordinate sample preparation for QC and analytical testing
- Support technology transfer activities with external manufacturing partners
- Follow laboratory safety and chemical handling procedures

Required Qualifications
- M.Sc / B.Tech / M.Tech in Organic Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, or related field
- 2–5 years of industrial R&D experience preferred
- Basic understanding of organic synthesis and process chemistry
- Experience working in laboratory environments
- Familiarity with analytical tools such as HPLC, GC, KF, UV, or IR preferred
- Good documentation and reporting capability
- Strong willingness to learn and execute experiments independently
