JOB DESCRIPTION

The Quotations Specialist is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive manufacturing cost estimates and quotations for engineering products and equipment. The role focuses on equipment/product cost estimation, should-cost analysis, manufacturing process evaluation, and pricing strategy development to support business growth and operational efficiency.

The position requires close collaboration with Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Procurement, Planning, and Sales teams to ensure timely and commercially optimized quotations. The Quotations Specialist will also support supplier evaluations, manufacturing cost optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with company quality, HSE, and operational standards.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate and timely quotations for engineering and manufacturing products, including detailed costed BOMs, manufacturing routings, materials, machining, labor, and supplier costs.
  • Perform should-cost analysis and manufacturing cost modeling to support pricing strategy, supplier evaluations, and sourcing decisions.
  • Analyze production, manufacturing, and pricing data to identify cost optimization and process improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Procurement, Planning, Finance, and Sales teams to gather technical and commercial inputs required for quotations.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to obtain pricing, lead times, MOQ/ACQ details, and technical information.
  • Support troubleshooting of manufacturing and costing-related issues while ensuring operational efficiency and cost control.
  • Prepare and maintain standardized quotation processes, pricing databases, historical cost records, and quotation documentation for audit and reference purposes.
  • Conduct quotation reviews and validations to minimize errors, pricing variances, and commercial risks before submission.
  • Provide quotation handover to Manufacturing teams, including pricing assumptions, costing rationale, supplier selection, and execution strategy.
  • Support forecasting and demand planning activities through analysis of historical quotation and pricing trends.
  • Ensure compliance with company quality standards, HSE policies, corporate governance requirements, and applicable industry standards.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to quotation accuracy, manufacturing efficiency, cost reduction, and process standardization.
  • Support training and mentoring of team members on quotation procedures, costing methodologies, and best practices.

Skills

  • Strong expertise in equipment/product cost estimation and manufacturing costing.
  • In-depth knowledge of GD&T, engineering drawings, materials, machining, and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with should-cost analysis and manufacturing cost modeling.
  • Hands-on experience with aPriori software and CAD tools.
  • Good understanding of supply chain, procurement, and manufacturing workflows.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems such as JDE and related quotation tools.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or related Engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 6–8 years of relevant experience in manufacturing quotations, engineering product costing, or equipment cost estimation.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing/product cost estimation.
  • Experience in engineering product costing is mandatory; project costing experience alone will not be considered.
  • Experience in oilfield equipment, industrial manufacturing, machining, or engineered products environment is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with aPriori software and CAD applications is required.
  • Strong English verbal and written communication skills required.
