Job Description

Company Description VantrixTech is a cybersecurity technology company focused on helping organizations address next-generation digital security challenges. The team specializes in Quantum Readiness, AI Security, and cyber risk innovation, enabling enterprises to build resilience against emerging threats and prepare for future technologies. VantrixTech delivers intelligent solutions that provide visibility, governance, and actionable insights across evolving security landscapes. By blending deep technical expertise with practical business outcomes, the company supports informed decision-making and secure technology adoption. VantrixTech is driven by the belief that cybersecurity is about protecting today while preparing organizations for the future.

Role Description The Quantum Security Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Pune. Quantum Security Engineer protects the organisation against the risks that quantum computing poses to today's cryptography, and secures emerging quantum technologies where they are adopted. The role leads the migration to post-quantum cryptography (PQC), builds crypto-agility into systems, and advises teams on quantum-era threats such as harvest now, decrypt later attacks. The engineer works across security, infrastructure, product and compliance teams to turn standards and research into practical, deployable controls.

Key Responsibilities

Post Quantum Migration

  • Build and maintain a cryptographic inventory (CBOM) covering algorithms, key sizes, protocols, certificates and libraries across applications, infrastructure and third parties.
  • Assess quantum risk by data sensitivity and required confidentiality lifetime, and prioritise systems for migration.
  • Design and deliver migration roadmaps to NIST-standardised algorithms (ML-KEM, ML-DSA, SLH-DSA) and hybrid classical/PQC schemes.
  • Integrate PQC into TLS, VPN, SSH, PKI, code signing, key management, HSMs and secure messaging.

Crypto-Agility and Architecture

  • Define reference architectures and coding standards that allow algorithms to be swapped without major re-engineering.
  • Review designs and code for cryptographic misuse, weak randomness, side-channel exposure and insecure key handling.
  • Evaluate performance, latency, bandwidth and certificate-size impacts of PQC on production workloads.

Quantum Technology Standards

  • Assess and secure quantum key distribution (QKD), quantum random number generators and quantum cloud services where used.
  • Advise on risks in hybrid quantum-classical workflows, including access control, data protection and supply chain concerns.

Governance, Risk and Compliance

  • Track standards and regulation (NIST, ETSI, IETF, NCSC, ENISA, CISA, and sector regulators) and translate them into policy and controls.
  • Support audit, regulatory reporting and board-level briefings on quantum readiness.
  • Evaluate vendor and supplier PQC readiness and contractual requirements.

Research, Enablement and Collaboration

  • Run proofs of concept and benchmark open-source libraries (e.g. liboqs, OpenSSL providers).
  • Create training, playbooks and guidance for engineers and architects.
  • Represent the organisation in industry groups, standards bodies and technical communities where appropriate.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, cybersecurity or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 4+ years in security engineering, applied cryptography or PKI engineering.
  • Strong grasp of public-key cryptography (RSA, ECC), symmetric cryptography, hashing and key management.
  • Working knowledge of quantum threats: Shor's and Grover's algorithms and their effect on current cryptosystems.
  • Familiarity with PQC algorithm families (lattice-, hash-, code- and multivariate-based) and NIST's standardisation process.
  • Hands-on experience with TLS, PKI, HSMs and secure protocol design.
  • Proficiency in at least one of Python, Go, Rust, C/C++ or Java.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, including explaining technical risk to non-specialists.
