Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Quantity Surveyor role based in Kolkata. The Quantity Surveyor will prepare and review Bills of Quantities (BOQs), support cost planning from concept through detailed design, and assist in tendering activities. Daily responsibilities include monitoring project costs, preparing cost reports, validating contractor claims, and ensuring alignment with budgets and contractual terms. The role involves working closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors to track progress, manage variations, and support value engineering. The Quantity Surveyor will also help maintain accurate documentation and support timely project delivery within approved cost parameters.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in cost planning and cost management to support budgeting and financial control for projects.
- Candidates should possess practical expertise in BOQ preparation and interpretation to ensure accurate quantity take-offs and tender documentation.
- Candidates should possess solid abilities in cost control and cost reporting to track expenditures, manage variations, and produce regular financial updates.
- Relevant degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Prior experience in real estate or construction projects, preferably in residential or commercial development.
- Proficiency with MS Excel and quantity surveying or construction cost software.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams on-site.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in English; knowledge of local languages in Kolkata is an advantage.
- 5--8 years of experience in Real Estate Construction
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare & review BOQs, estimates and project budgets
- Manage tendering, commercial evaluation & negotiations
- Verify measurements, RA Bills, variations & final bills
- Monitor project costs, budgets, commitments & cash flow
- Drive quantity reconciliation, cost control & value engineering
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, procurement, site & finance teams
- Prepare commercial MIS, cost reports & forecasts
