Job Title: Quantity Surveyor & Estimator Water Supply, Sewerage & Storm Water Projects

Location: Thane

Experience: Minimum 35 years (in relevant domain)

Qualification: B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in Civil Engineering

Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled Quantity Surveyor & Estimator with expertise in atleast one of Water Supply, Sewerage, and Storm Water Drainage Projects. The candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed estimates, cost analyses, and assisting in the preparation of DPRs while coordinating with government departments for technical sanction and approvals.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare detailed quantity take-offs, BOQs, and cost estimates for water supply, sewerage, and storm water schemes.

Conduct rate analysis and prepare costing sheets in accordance with MJP, PWD, CPWD, and other departmental norms.

Support in the preparation and review of Detailed Project Reports (DPRs), including cost justifications and abstracts.

Coordinate with government authorities (MJP, PWD, WATCO, Zilla Parishad, ULBs, etc.) during technical scrutiny and sanction stages.

Collaborate with the design team to assess cost implications of design modifications and ensure financial feasibility.

Maintain and update Schedule of Rates (SOR) and departmental specifications relevant to project estimation.

Prepare tender documents, rate abstracts, and comparative statements for procurement and bidding.

Verify contractor's bills, variation statements, and assist in cost control and project budgeting.

Provide inputs on design concepts such as demand estimation, flow calculation, and basic hydraulic considerations.

Coordinate with clients, consultants, and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of estimation work.

Desired Skills & Competencies:

Strong knowledge of Estimation & Costing for water infrastructure projects.

Familiarity with DPR formats and Technical Sanction procedures of government departments.

Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and estimation tools or templates.

Conceptual understanding of hydraulic design principles related to water supply and sewerage systems.

Excellent analytical, documentation, and coordination skills.

Effective communication skills and confidence in dealing with government officials.

Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and deliver precise outputs.

Preferred Experience:

Hands-on experience in MJP, PWD, or WATCO projects.

Exposure to government-funded programs such as Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) or AMRUT.

Experience in preparing revised estimates, variation proposals, and financial progress reports
