To strengthen our manufacturing and compliance ecosystem, we are hiring an experienced Quality Manager to lead factory compliance and ethical sourcing initiatives across our manufacturing partner network.
About the Role:
The Quality Manager will lead end-to-end product quality assurance for PlayShifu products manufactured by PlayShifu. The role will ensure that products consistently meet the Retailer's quality standards, safety requirements, regulatory expectations, and PlayShifu's internal quality benchmarks.
The role requires strong coordination with factories, engineering teams, sourcing teams, third-party inspection agencies, and customer stakeholders to establish robust quality systems and drive manufacturing excellence.
This role requires regular travel to factory locations across India.
What you'll do:
Quality Systems & Manufacturing Excellence
- Develop and implement quality assurance processes across all stages of manufacturing.
- Ensure factory adherence to quality requirements, product specifications, testing standards, and manufacturing protocols.
- Establish quality control plans, SOPs, inspection criteria, and acceptance standards.
- Drive process improvements to reduce defects and improve production consistency.
Factory Quality Management
- Conduct factory capability assessments and process audits.
- Monitor incoming material quality, in-process inspections, and final product inspections.
- Work closely with factory quality teams to improve process controls and production quality.
- Ensure robust root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action implementation.
Product Safety & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with applicable toy safety and regulatory standards.
- Coordinate product testing and certification activities with accredited laboratories.
- Ensure compliance with Retailer-specific product safety requirements.
- Review and approve testing protocols, quality documentation, and inspection reports.
Inspection & Issue Resolution
- Coordinate third-party inspections and quality audits.
- Manage pre-production, inline, and final random inspections.
- Analyze quality issues, customer complaints, and field feedback to implement corrective actions.
- Escalate critical quality risks and drive resolution with cross-functional teams.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with sourcing, engineering, packaging, product development, and supply chain teams.
- Support new product introductions and production readiness reviews.
- Provide quality guidance to factory partners and internal stakeholders.
- Participate in customer meetings related to quality and manufacturing readiness.
Reporting & Metrics
- Develop and track factory quality KPIs.
- Prepare periodic quality performance reports and dashboards.
- Monitor defect trends and implement preventive quality initiatives.
- Maintain inspection, testing, and compliance documentation.
What we're looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Quality Management, or related field.
- 7–12 years of experience in quality assurance, manufacturing quality, supplier quality, or factory quality management.
- Experience working with global retailers such as Target, Walmart, Amazon, Costco, or similar customer quality systems is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of quality systems, inspections, and manufacturing process controls.
- Experience in toys, consumer products, electronics, plastics, or FMCG manufacturing preferred.
- Familiarity with AQL standards, CAPA processes, root cause analysis tools, and quality audit methodologies.
- Knowledge of toy safety standards and regulatory requirements is a strong advantage.
- Strong quality systems and manufacturing process knowledge.
