Job Description

Position Title: Quality Line Inspector

Location: Navi Mumbai

Working Schedule: Shift Rotation

Main Tasks And Responsibilities

  • Perform line inspection and ensure quality compliance at all stages: raw material receipt, in-process, PDI, and final inspection.
  • Carry out receiving inspection and prepare inspection reports for machined parts, tubes, and covers.
  • Handle all quality activities on the manufacturing line, from raw material receipt to PDI line clearance.
  • Prepare and maintain quality documentation at each manufacturing stage (receiving, in-process, final).
  • Conduct daily workstation-wise process audits as per the process audit checklist.
  • Perform SPC, MSA studies, and participate in process and product audits.
  • Conduct painting scratch tests as per defined standards.
  • Analyze customer returns and warranty failure parts in coordination with internal teams and suppliers.
  • Resolve in-house and customer complaints using structured problem-solving methods.
  • Initiate actions to reduce in-line rejection and DPPM through effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Inform suppliers of online non-conformities within 24 hours and follow up for improvements.
  • Prepare and review monthly rework and rejection reports, including PPM trends and Pareto analysis.

Position Requirements

  • Proficient in handling inspection instruments: Vernier caliper, micrometer, inside caliper, air gauge, snap gauge, VMM, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of machined component inspection (in-house and outsourced).
  • Working knowledge of 7 QC tools and 8D problem-solving methodology.
  • Good understanding of SOPs, Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), Control Plans, PFMEA, and inspection report preparation.
  • Awareness of ISO 9001:2015 requirements and related documentation.
  • Capable of performing online and final inspection of manufactured parts in accordance with engineering drawings and specified requirements.
  • Experience in manufacturing line inspection.
  • ITI / BSc with minimum 4 years of experience, or
  • DME with minimum 2 years of experience.
  • Effective communication skills for coordination with production, suppliers, and quality teams.
  • Willing and able to work in three-shift operations as per production requirements
