Job Summary
The Hospital Quality Executive plays a hands-on role in implementing, monitoring, and sustaining quality standards, patient safety practices, and compliance systems within the healthcare organization. This role works closely with clinical, nursing, administrative, and support teams to ensure hospital operations align with regulatory guidelines (NABH/JCI), standard operating procedures (SOPs), and internal quality policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Accreditation & Compliance Management
- Maintain and update hospital policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and manuals in accordance with NABH, JCI, or ISO standards.
- Act as the primary coordinator for continuous accreditation readiness, assisting in documentation review and external assessment preparation.
- Ensure hospital compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements (e.g., Biomedical Waste Management, Fire Safety, PCPNDT Act).
- Quality Monitoring & Auditing
- Conduct routine departmental quality rounds, internal audits, and mock surveys to ensure adherence to hospital protocols.
- Track and monitor raw data for Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Quality Indicators across clinical and non-clinical departments.
- Facilitate clinical audits (e.g., prescription audits, medical record audits, CPR audits, infection control audits).
- Identify non-compliance areas and coordinate with department heads to formulate Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
- Incident Management & Patient Safety
- Analyze clinical incidents, including medication errors, adverse drug reactions, near misses, and sentinel events.
- Assist in conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to mitigate patient safety risks.
- Monitor patient grievance and feedback data to recommend service improvement initiatives.
- Training & Data Management
- Organize and conduct quality awareness training, patient safety inductions, and mock drills (e.g., Code Blue, Code Red) for new and existing staff.
- Prepare Quality Improvement (QI) dashboards, Monthly Information System (MIS) reports, and presentations for management review and Quality Committee meetings.
- Maintain version control, periodic review, and secure archiving of all quality documents.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Master of Hospital Administration (MHA), MBA in Healthcare Management, or a clinical degree (BSc Nursing, BDS, BAMS, BHMS) combined with a PG Diploma in Hospital Quality Management.
- Experience: 1 to 4 years of hands-on experience in the quality department of a hospital ( Freshers can also apply )
- Certifications: Certificate course in NABH Internal Audit or JCI standards is highly preferred.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Deep understanding of healthcare quality frameworks (NABH/JCI/ISO), clinical workflows, and patient safety goals.
- Proficiency in applying quality improvement methodologies (e.g., PDSA cycle, Six Sigma basics).
- Excellent analytical skills for interpreting quality metrics and managing data.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively train staff and write comprehensive audit reports.
- Proficiency in MS Office (specifically Excel and PowerPoint) and Hospital Information Systems (HIS).
