Job Title: Product Compliance Engineer - Pressure Equipment

Location: Pune, Maharashtra 



Job Description

The Product Compliance Engineer will ensure that product meets international regulatory requirements for Pressure equipment. This includes managing compliance under Pressure Equipment Directive (2014/68/EU) and Transportable Pressure Equipment Directive (2010/35/EU). The role involves certification management of SLB Equipment (Oil and Gas), prepare compliance technical files, standards interpretation, and collaboration with design and manufacturing teams to integrate compliance requirements throughout the product lifecycle. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Compliance & Certification
  • Perform product compliance activities for PED and TPED Directives.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation: Risk Assessments, quality records, conformity assessment reports and certificates, Declaration of Conformity, test plan and reports as per harmonised standards.
  • Coordinate with notified bodies and certification agencies for technical reviews, audits and approvals.
  • Standards & Regulations
  • Interpret and apply ASME Section VIII code, API & EN/ISO standards for pressure equipment.
  • Ensure conformity with EU regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and communicate impacts to project teams.
  • Design & Safety Support
  • Review product designs for compliance with applicable ASME codes, API & harmonised standards.
  • Perform stress analysis calculations for pressure equipment.
  • Provide guidance on essential health and safety requirements under Pressure Equipment Directive.
  • Support CE marking and global certification strategy.
  • Risk Assessment
  • Conduct risk assessment of pressure equipment.
  • Maintain compliance records and ensure traceability.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to integrate compliance requirements.
  • Train internal teams on PED and TPED Directive compliance processes. 





Required Skills And Qualifications



  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience:
  • 4 to 5 years in product regulatory compliance.
  • Hands-on experience with PED, TPED, & CE marking.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of CE marking process, ASME BPVC codes, API, EN and ISO standards.
  • Strong knowledge of conformity assessment modules under PED Directive.
  • Knowledge of material selection and stress analysis for pressure vessels.
  • Understanding of Dangerous Goods Transport Regulations (ADR/RID/ADN/IMDG).
  • Knowledge of manufacturing & quality processes for pressure equipment manufacturing.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and interact with certification bodies.
  • Excellent interpretation skills on product compliance regulations and harmonised standards.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Machinery Directive (2006/42/EC).
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001).
