The Quality Engineer - QMS will be responsible for programmanaging the Quality Management System (QMS) audit program and conducting supplier audits for the semiconductor ecosystem. The role focuses on ensuring supplier compliance, process effectiveness, and risk mitigation across mechanical and electrical component suppliers supporting semiconductor equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
QMS Audit Program Management
- Plan, manage, and execute the supplier QMS audit program
- Develop annual audit plans based on risk, supplier criticality, and performance
- Track audit schedules, findings, CAPA closure, and effectiveness metrics
- Report audit status, risks, and trends to quality leadership
Supplier Audits (Semiconductor Focus)
- Conduct onsite and remote audits of supplier Quality Management Systems
- Audit suppliers against ISO 9001 and customerspecific semiconductor requirements
- Evaluate supplier controls for:
- Machining & fabrication
- Sheet metal
- Electrical components
- Special processes (cleaning, coating, heat treatment, welding)
- Assess process capability, contamination risk, traceability, and change management
NonConformance & CAPA Management
- Identify and clearly document nonconformances with objective evidence
- Review root cause analysis and corrective / preventive actions (CAPA)
- Verify implementation and longterm effectiveness of corrective actions
- Escalate highrisk or systemic quality issues
CrossFunctional & Supplier Engagement
- Work closely with Supplier Quality, Engineering, Operations, and Program teams
- Drive a riskbased audit mindset aligned to semiconductor tool uptime and yield
- Support supplier development and continuous improvement initiatives
Educational Qualification
- B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (mandatory)
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong understanding of QMS auditing principles (ISO 9001)
- Experience auditing manufacturing suppliers, preferably for:
- Semiconductor / Electronics / Precision manufacturing
- Handson exposure to supplier audits and process audits
- Knowledge of:
- Special processes and validation
- Control plans, FMEA, SPC
- Measurement system & calibration controls
- Strong documentation, analytical, and reportwriting skills
- Ability to work independently across geographies and time zones
Travel & Work Conditions
- Willingness to travel 50% to supplier locations within India and globally
- Comfortable working 3 PM 12 AM IST to collaborate with global teams
