Quality Engineer - DB/ETL/API

• As a Quality Engineer (Database/ETL) at Techblocks, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our data processes, database operations, and ETL workflows
• You will collaborate closely with the development and data teams to identify edge cases, create test cases, and ensure that our applications and data systems meet the highest quality standards

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for database operations and ETL processes.
• Create edge case scenarios to identify potential issues and vulnerabilities in data pipelines.
• Work with various devices and tools to manipulate data and simulate real-world scenarios.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand application architecture and data flows.
• Use SQL queries and scripts to validate data accuracy and integrity.
• Catalog test cases in a repository and maintain documentation for future reference.
• Collaborate with the data engineering team to identify and resolve data quality issues.
• Provide input on test automation strategies to improve testing efficiency.
• Execute and automate regression tests as part of the continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline.
• Identify, report, and track defects, ensuring timely resolution.
• Participate in the overall quality assurance process, including design and code reviews.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in quality engineering, with a focus on database and ETL testing.
• Strong proficiency in SQL for data validation and manipulation.
• Ability to work with various devices and tools for data testing and manipulation.
• Experience creating test cases, especially edge case scenarios.
• Familiarity with cataloging and maintaining test cases in a repository.
• Understanding of application architecture and data flows.
• Knowledge of GCP (Google Cloud Platform) is a plus.
• Previous experience in the Ecommerce industry is a strong advantage.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
