Job Description

Position Summary:

The Quality Engineer II is a key member of the Quality Engineering (QE) team, responsible for developing a deep understanding of software functionalities to create effective testing strategies for software releases. This role involves gaining insights into interfacing applications, test environments, and utilizing Testing Services tools and methodologies. The Quality Engineer II will decompose business and technical requirements into test case scenarios and acceptance tests, define test data requirements, manage test case creation, and prepare contingency plans.

During testing events, the Quality Engineer II will develop test case execution plans, oversee execution, manage issues, and report metrics. The role requires leveraging both manual and automated testing tools and processes. Overtime work may be required as needed.

Essential Job Functions:

- Develop and maintain test plans; create manual and automated test cases for application projects.

- Conduct testing as per the Test Plan; document and report issues in Jira.

- Execute regression tests for updated applications.

- Maintain comprehensive records of application testing and prepare summary reports.

- Collaborate with developers and users to enhance testing, defect isolation, and tracking.

- Formulate test strategies based on technical specifications and business requirements.

- Communicate effectively with IT management and business users.

- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

- A Bachelor's degree in a technical-related field is preferred, along with technical certifications or equivalent work experience.

- Three to five years of experience as a software tester with a focus on functional automation, test plan writing, and test script creation is required.

- Two to four years of experience with web-enabling technologies, including web enterprise servers, programming languages, SQL databases, and client/server development is necessary.

- Basic understanding of software processing.

- Experience with large, complex technology projects is required.

- Familiarity with .NET technologies, Java, Python, API and web services, stored procedures, and middle-tier applications.

- Experience with automation frameworks and end-to-end software system testing is required.

- Availability for various shifts, extended hours, and on-call support as needed.

- Strong analytical and problem-management skills to resolve issues in testing environments.

- Ability to multi-task across diverse test environments and projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

- 3-5 years of experience with Python and Robot Framework.

- 3-5 years of experience with Selenium and Appium.
