What You'll Do
This position will be based in Bengaluru and will report directly to the Supplier Quality Manager in India. It involves close collaboration with supplier and global stakeholders, including those in Supply Chain, Product Group, and Manufacturing. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented IQA (Incoming Quality Assurance) Engineer with expertise in inspection processes and metrology to join our quality team. The ideal candidate must have a strong understanding of GD&T, experienced in performing calibration and source inspection, and hands-on proficiency with CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) operations. Key responsibilities include:
- Conduct incoming inspections on parts and assemblies using various measuring instruments and equipments, including CMM (Operating and programming), surface roughness tester, profile projector, micrometers, and other precision instruments.
- Perform calibration checks on supplier measuring Instruments and equipment, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Lam quality standards.
- Conduct source inspections at supplier locations, ensuring that parts meet required specifications before shipment.
- Document and report non-conforming parts, collaborating with Supplier Engineers, and Lam Manufacturing team to resolve quality issues and assist in maintaining quality documentation as per Lam standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for process improvements in the IQA department.
Who We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree with 5-10 years of relevant experience/ Diploma candidates min. 7 to 10 years in the field of Mech/Automotive/industrial/Production/Aerospace Engineering.
- Strong understanding of GD&T, with expertise in interpreting complex engineering drawings, measurement methods, instrumentation, and calibration.
- Hands-on experience in operating and programming CMMs as well as capable of coaching and mentoring suppliers.
- Proficient in documenting inspection results, maintaining quality records, and reporting nonconformities.
- Excellent business communication and presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Worked as an Incoming Quality Assurance (IQA) role preferabally in a manufacturing organization.
- prior experience in programming and operating Zeiss CMM and Calypso software.
- Proficiency in MS Office tools, including Power BI, PowerPoint, Excel as well as SAP quality management.
- Ability to develop work instructions and standard operating procedures to improve effectiveness of Inspection activity.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. On-site Flex you'll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. Virtual Flex you'll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
