Job Description: Quality Control (QC) Executive / Lead – Menswear ApparelAbout the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and highly execution-driven Quality Control (QC) Executive / Lead to ensure every garment meets our quality, fit, and finishing standards before reaching customers.
This role will own quality checks across the product lifecycle — from fabric and sampling to inline production and final finished garments. The ideal candidate understands menswear garment construction, measurements, fit, stitching quality, and finishing standards.
The goal is simple: deliver consistently high-quality products while reducing defects, returns, and customer complaints.
Key Responsibilities1. Product Quality Control
- Conduct quality inspections during sampling, production, and final finished goods stage.
- Ensure garments meet approved specifications, construction standards, and workmanship quality.
- Identify and resolve quality issues before dispatch.
2. Measurement & Fit Checks
- Conduct garment measurements against approved size charts and tolerance limits.
- Ensure consistency across sizes and batches.
- Check fit accuracy for menswear categories including trousers, cargos, shirts, jackets, overshirts, and co-ords.
- Escalate fit or grading inconsistencies proactively.
3. Inline Production Quality
- Visit factories/job workers for inline inspections during production.
- Detect issues early to avoid bulk rejection or rework.
- Monitor stitching quality, seam strength, bartacks, finishing, thread quality, puckering, alignment, symmetry, and garment construction.
4. Final Quality Inspection
- Perform final inspection before warehouse dispatch.

- Shade variation
- Washing consistency
- Trims & accessories
- Finishing quality
- Labeling & packaging
- Ironing & presentation
- Approve or reject goods based on quality standards.
5. Fabric & Wash Quality Checks
- Check fabric GSM, shrinkage, hand feel, color consistency, and defects.
- Ensure fabrics and washes meet approved standards.
- Coordinate with sourcing/vendors on quality deviations.
6. Vendor & Factory Coordination
- Work closely with factories, production teams, and vendors to improve quality standards.
- Train vendors on expected garment quality requirements where necessary.
- Follow up on corrective actions and rework.
7. Defect Analysis & Return Reduction
- Identify recurring quality issues and root causes.
- Maintain defect reports and quality observations.
- Collaborate with merchandising and production teams to reduce customer returns caused by fit or quality issues.
8. SOPs & Quality Standards
- Build and maintain quality checklists and inspection SOPs.
- Help standardize fit, measurement tolerances, and construction quality across categories.
What We're Looking For
- 2–7+ years of experience in garment QC/QA, preferably in menswear.
- Strong understanding of garment construction, stitching, measurements, grading, and fit.
- Experience with woven menswear categories preferred (trousers, shirts, cargos, jackets, overshirts, etc.).
- Ability to identify construction defects and finishing issues.
- Comfortable visiting factories/job workers for inspections.
- High attention to detail and problem-solving mindset.
- Strong ownership and execution ability in a fast-paced startup environment.
Good-to-Have
- Experience working with D2C or fashion brands.
- Understanding of customer return reasons and fit-related defects.
- Knowledge of washes, shrinkage, and fabric behavior.
