what you will be doing
- To ensure incoming raw materials, such as plates, structural sections, and bought-out and Job work components, and ensure they meet the required specifications, material grades, and quality standards before being released for production.
- To inspect outsourced job work components upon receipt, and verify compliance with drawings and technical specifications.
- To perform in-process inspection during fabrication activities, including cutting, fitting, welding, structural assembly of crane components, and Painting.
- To check critical dimensions of fabricated structures such as girders, end carriages, platforms, and other crane components as per approved drawings and tolerances.
- To verify weld quality through visual inspection and ensure proper weld size, penetration, alignment, and finishing as per welding standards.
- To ensure fabricated structures are free from major distortions, misalignment, or dimensional deviations before they move to the next stage of production.
- To monitor machining accuracy for critical components such as shafts, bearing housings, and mounting interfaces.
- To identify non-conforming parts or fabrication defects and segregate them with proper identification for rework, correction, or rejection.
- To inform the QC Manager and concerned production supervisors when repeated defects, fabrication errors, or process deviations are observed.
