Key Responsibilities
1. Raw Material Quality Monitoring
- Inspect and test incoming raw materials such as Paper ,core & C.boxes
- Verify certificate of analysis (COA) and ensure compliance with purchase specifications.
- Report non-conforming materials and coordinate with the purchase/production team for corrective action.
2. In-Process Quality Control
- Conduct routine tests during production (e.g. KIT value, moisture,ash content, ,brightness, tensile strength, burst index, wet strength).
- Identify and troubleshoot process deviations with the production team.
3. Finished Product Quality Assurance
- Inspect final paper rolls/sheets for surface properties, grammage, strength properties, brightness, shade, smoothness, and defects.
- Approve or reject finished products based on set quality standards.
- Prepare test reports and release notes for dispatch.
4. Laboratory Management
- Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of lab equipment (e.g., GSM tester, bursting strength tester, Cobb sizing tester, tensile tester, opacity and brightness meters).
- Maintain records of test results, calibration logs, and equipment performance.
- Ensure availability of testing materials and chemicals.
6. Customer Support & Complaint Analysis
- Analyse customer feedback and handle quality-related complaints.
- Conduct root-cause analysis for issues such as printability defects, strength failures, dusting, or shade variations.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
8. Cross-Department Coordination
- Coordinate with production, maintenance, purchase, and sales teams for smooth operations.
Skills Required
- Strong knowledge of paper properties and testing methods.
- Familiarity with paper machine operations and pulp processing.
- Good communication, analytical thinking, and documentation skills.
