Company Description The ePlane Company is redefining urban air mobility with the e200X, India's first electric air ambulance and taxi, designed to operate from existing city helipads and rooftops. As a deep-tech Make in India venture, it develops core subsystems such as propellers, airframe, landing gear, and battery packs entirely in-house. Backed by $21 million in funding and seven years of validation, the company has completed full-scale assembly of its first prototype, now entering ground and flight testing toward DGCA Type Certification. ePlane holds India's first Design Organisation Approval (DOA) for a private electric aircraft and is incubated at IIT Madras under the leadership of Prof. Satya Chakravarthy. The company is gearing up for commercial rollout, starting with air ambulance services and later expanding to air taxi and urban cargo operations.
Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Quality Control Engineering (Electrical) role based in Chennai. The role involves performing electrical inspections and tests on aircraft subsystems, components, and assemblies to ensure compliance with internal standards, aviation regulations, and safety requirements. The individual will develop and implement electrical quality control procedures, review test data, identify non-conformities, and coordinate corrective and preventive actions with design, manufacturing, and testing teams. Daily responsibilities include supporting root cause analysis for electrical failures, maintaining quality documentation, preparing reports for audits and certification, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve reliability and manufacturability. The role also includes participation in internal audits, supplier quality evaluations, and continuous improvement initiatives for electrical systems within the prototype and production environments.
