Position Summary

We are seeking a Quality Control Coordinator (Rotatory Equipment) to manage and oversee inspection activities for multiple Purchase Orders within the compressors, pumps, turbines, and other rotating equipment domain. The role requires strong coordination with Vendors, Inspection teams, Design Engineering, Project Engineers, and Client Quality representatives to ensure complete adherence to contractual quality requirements.

Key Objectives & Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed review of applicable project specifications before manufacturing, ensuring identification of inconsistencies and clarifications as needed.
  • Verify inclusion of quality control requirements of design codes and project specifications in the Purchase Orders.
  • Plan, coordinate, and manage shop inspector visits to vendor premises to comply with the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP).
  • Review quality control records and vendor documents associated with Inspection scope.
  • Lead Pre-Inspection Meetings (PIM) prior to commencement of fabrication activities.
  • Review and distribute inspection reports prepared by shop inspectors.
  • Manage Non-Conformity Reports (NCR) raised during vendor inspections.
  • Review the Final Quality Dossier for Purchase Orders.
  • Liaise with internal project teams to resolve any quality control issues during the PO lifecycle.
  • Communicate effectively with the Client's QA/QC representatives and Vendor quality teams.
  • Handle typical rotating equipment commodities: Pumps, Compressors, Blowers, Turbines, and other rotary equipment.

Technical Skills & Requirements

Essential

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 10 years experience in Inspection activities in an EPC contractor or reputed fabricator in the Oil & Gas sector.
  • 510 years experience in pressure equipment vendor inspection related to manufacturing and quality.
  • Strong knowledge of API standards:
  • API 610, 682, 676, 613, 614, 617, 618, 616, 672, 619.
  • QMS Lead Auditor ISO 9001:2015.
  • Knowledge of electrical equipment (motors, VFDs, and auxiliaries for rotating equipment).
  • General understanding of materials, welding, NDT, and painting.
  • Experience in balancing, performance, and mechanical running tests of rotating equipment.
  • Instrumentation knowledge for vibration measurement, temperature, and skid auxiliaries.

Desirable

  • Vendor Inspector's SAP number and QMs for ARAMCO projects.
  • Experience in ARAMCO and/or ADNOC projects.
  • Certifications in materials, welding, NDT, or painting.
  • Availability for short-term relocation to Middle East, Europe, or China.

Other Requirements

  • Mobility: Required for short-term travel as needed.
  • Working Location: Chennai / Bangalore Office.
