Role - QA Test Engineer - Manual and Automation

Tester role performing Manual and Automation testing activities.

Designation - Technical Lead Engineer - Testing

Experience (in years) - 7-12 years

Education - Masters/Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information science, Physics, Math or any other related discipline.

Essential skills

Experience with testing management tools like Jira, HP/OpenText ALM, IBM Rational, XRay, Zephyr, etc

Experienced in multiple complete software release cycles

Understanding of Agile/iterative software development methodologies and Testing in Agile

Good verbal and written communication skills and ability to work effectively in a geographically dispersed team

Desired skills

Test-driven development experience

Experience with software development and/or Software Testing

Experience in conducting testing in the Life science domain - Clinical systems

Knowledge of Computer System Validation (CSV) Or Computer Software Assurance (CSA) is a plus

Certifications, if any

ISTQB certifications/Agile certification

Summary

The QA Test Engineer performs manual and/or automated testing to ensure Sycamore software products meet regulatory and functional requirements. The role involves designing test cases, executing test plans, and documenting results.

Roles & Responsibilities

● Develop and execute manual and/or automated test cases for software applications.

● Perform functional, regression, integration, and system testing.

● Collaborate with developers, services, and stakeholders to understand requirements and validate application functionality.

● Perform defect tracking and reporting using tools like JIRA, HP ALM, or Bugzilla.

● Execute SQL queries to validate database integrity.

● Conduct API testing using tools like Postman or RestAssured.

● Maintain test documentation, including test cases, test scripts, and execution logs.

● Conduct regression testing to ensure software stability and reliability.

● Stay updated on emerging trends and best practices in testing and recommend process improvements.

● Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and retrospectives to provide testability and product quality feedback.

● Document test plans, test cases and contribute to technical documentation and knowledge-sharing sessions.

● Agile Testing, Testing Lifecycle knowledge

● Working with any Test Management Tools like HP ALM, Jira , Xray, Zephyr , IBM Rational
