Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist to join our manufacturing unit. The QA Specialist will play a key role in monitoring, inspecting, and improving production processes to ensure products meet defined quality standards and exceed customer expectations. This position demands a strong emphasis on documentation, reporting, and compliance, in addition to core quality assurance responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Monitoring & Inspection
- Inspect incoming raw materials, in-process production, and final products to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for any product non-conformities and support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Perform regular audits and quality checks throughout the production lifecycle.
- Support First Article Inspection (FAI), PPAP, and final quality clearance processes.
Documentation & Reporting
- Preparing and maintaining process control documents PFMEA, SOP, control plan, PFD and check sheets.
- Maintain comprehensive records of inspections, test results, NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports), and corrective actions.
- Create and update quality control documents such as SOPs, Work Instructions, Checklists, and Quality Manuals.
- Preparation and presentation of daily, weekly & monthly MIS
- Maintain calibration records of measuring instruments and ensure timely calibration.
Process & System Improvement
- Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, and R&D teams to improve product quality and reduce defects.
- Participate in internal quality improvement projects, 5S, Kaizen initiatives, and process optimization efforts.
- Manage on job training and multi skilling training for QA & Line operators.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015, customer-specific requirements, and any relevant quality certifications.
Customer Interaction & Support
- Support in handling customer complaints, feedback, and audit requirements.
- Provide documentation and traceability support to OEM customers.
- Participate in customer audits and demonstrate quality control systems and practices.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of QA tools and methodologies (e.g., 7 QC Tools, CAPA, FMEA, RCA)
- Excellent technical report writing and documentation skills
- Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), ERP systems (preferably TallyPrime or SAP), and data analysis tools
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Familiarity with ISO standards and audit protocols
Qualifications:
- Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering
- Minimum 1-2 years of hands-on experience in a QA role within a manufacturing environment (preferably in metalworking, forging, stamping, or blade production)
Desirable Attributes:
- Experience with OEM customer audits
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles
- Fluency in Marathi and English for smooth communication with shop floor and customers
