Quality Assurance Lead

We are seeking a hands-on Test Automation SDET to build, maintain, execute, and debug reliable UI automation using Selenium and/or Playwright, together with API automation for REST and SOAP services. The role requires strong manual testing and QA-process knowledge, practical ownership of automation development, and the ability to convert functional workflows into reusable automated coverage without over-relying on AI-generated tests or scripts.

The engineer will collaborate with Manual QA, Product, Support, Services, and Test Automation teams to improve regression quality, stability, and execution efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and execute reusable UI, API, functional, end-to-end, and regression automation.
• Create automation test cases from requirements, application workflows, and approved manual scenarios.
• Build and maintain Selenium WebDriver/Grid and/or Playwright automation assets.
• Develop BDD automation using Cucumber or Serenity with Gherkin, where applicable.
• Design, develop, and execute API automation for REST and SOAP services using JSON/XML request and response data.
• Maintain test suites, test data, selectors, execution configurations, and defect traceability.
• Investigate failures and flaky tests; isolate root causes across automation, application, data, and environment layers.
• Refactor automation to improve reuse, readability, maintainability, stability, and execution time.
• Integrate automation with build and CI/CD tools such as Maven, Gradle, Jenkins, or Ansible.
• Review requirements and manual scenarios for testability, completeness, and automation readiness.
• Contribute to framework improvements, regression optimization, release validation, and quality reporting.
• Mentor or technically guide a small automation team, where required.

Required Qualifications

• 6-12 years of test automation experience.
• Strong hands-on experience creating, enhancing, executing, and debugging automation-not only reviewing or generating scripts.
• Practical manual testing knowledge covering test design, test data, regression, defect lifecycle, and release validation.
• Strong experience with Selenium and/or Playwright for UI and end-to-end automation.
• Knowledge of XPath, CSS selectors, REST/SOAP, JSON, XML, and API testing.
• Experience with test-suite management, test-data management, Agile practices, and Jira or a similar defect-management tool.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• P&C insurance domain experience; Majesco P&C Suite experience is an advantage.
• Experience with TestNG, Cucumber, Serenity, Gherkin, Maven, Gradle, Jenkins, or Ansible.
• Experience leading or mentoring 2-3 automation testers.
