Senior QA Automation Engineer (Playwright) – QA Lead

About the Role

We're looking for a Senior QA Automation Engineer who's ready to take on a leadership role and bring strong Playwright expertise to the table. You'll be the one shaping how we approach test automation not just writing scripts, but setting the direction, mentoring the team, and making sure what we ship actually works. What You'll Be Doing

• Building and maintaining automated test suites in Playwright (TypeScript/JavaScript)
• Shaping the test automation strategy and deciding where automation adds the most value
• Reviewing your team's work and helping them grow as engineers, not just checking boxes
• Keeping automated tests running smoothly within our CI/CD pipelines
• Working hand-in-hand with developers, product managers, and DevOps to catch issues early
• Handling API testing and making sure end-to-end flows hold up under real conditions
• Logging and following through on defects until they're actually resolved
• Keeping stakeholders informed with clear updates on test coverage and release readiness
• Staying curious about new tools and approaches that could make testing faster or more reliable

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years in QA overall, with 2-3 of those years focused specifically on automation
• Real, hands-on experience with Playwright - this one's a must
• Comfortable working in TypeScript or JavaScript
• Some experience with API testing (Postman or similar tools)
• Familiarity with Git and CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI
• A good understanding of Agile/Scrum and how software actually gets built and shipped
• Experience mentoring or leading a QA team, even informally
• Strong communication skills you'll be talking to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders

Nice to Have

• Experience with other automation tools like Selenium or Cypress
• Some exposure to performance or accessibility testing
• Basic familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Curiosity about AI-assisted testing tools and how they fit into modern QA
