Finrep AI is Looking for:
We're hiring a QA Engineer to take ownership of product quality end-to-end. This is a hands-on testing role first — you will be personally accountable for the quality of what ships. Alongside that, you will set up a QA process where one doesn't fully exist yet, and build the automation for your own test cases and product areas yourself — this is not a role where automation is handed off to someone else.
This is a strong fit for someone who wants to build a QA function from the ground up in a small, high-velocity team — owning both the testing and the automation that supports it — rather than operate inside an established process.
What You'll Do
- Own end-to-end testing of new features and releases — functional, regression, edge-case, and exploratory testing across the product.
- Design and maintain test cases and test plans for each release cycle, working closely with engineering and product.
- Set up structured QA processes for the team — release checklists, bug triage flow, test documentation, and reporting — largely from scratch.
- Build and own the automation for your test cases yourself — you write the automated tests for the product areas you cover, rather than handing this off to a separate automation function.
- Test AI-driven features specifically — outputs that involve model-generated content, citations, and data traceability — where quality means more than a simple pass/fail.
- Log, triage, and track defects to closure, and work directly with engineers to reproduce and resolve issues quickly.
- Remain the single point of accountability for product quality across both manual testing and the automation you build — this ownership doesn't shift to anyone else.
What We're Looking For
- 1–3 years of experience in a QA / Quality Assurance role (2+ years preferred).
- Prior experience testing a B2B SaaS product is required.
- Strong grasp of manual testing fundamentals — test case design, regression testing, bug reporting, and release sign-off.
- Hands-on experience building test automation yourself (e.g. Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or API testing with Postman) — you should be able to write and maintain your own automated tests, not just execute a suite someone else built.
- Working scripting ability (Python or JavaScript) to support the automation you build.
- Comfortable working in a small team where you'll be defining process, not just following one.
- Sharp attention to detail and a genuine sense of ownership over what goes out the door.
- Clear written communication — for bug reports, test documentation, and cross-functional coordination with engineering and product.
