Quality Assurance Engineer III

Role Overview

We are seeking a versatile Quality Assurance / Automation Tester to join our team, combining hands-on manual QA testing with robust End-to-End (E2E) test automation for AR/VR projects. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in monitoring CI pipelines, analyzing and triaging automated test failures, maintaining test suites, and developing new automated test cases across user workflows and emulator environments and strong knowledge on the testing.

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-End Test Ownership: Own test planning, test case design, manual feature execution, and automated regression suites across AR/VR applications, hardware devices, and emulators.
• Automated Test Development: Design, implement, and maintain scalable automated test scripts in modern programming languages (Python, Java, C/C++, or TypeScript) for new user journeys and features.
• CI/CD & Pipeline Monitoring: Monitor continuous integration (CI) test execution pipelines to ensure reliable automated build validation and immediate regression detection.
• Bug Investigation & Triage: Perform root cause analysis on test failures, isolating whether issues stem from application bugs, hardware/emulator quirks, or automation script flakiness, and drive them through resolution.
• Device & Hardware Management: Review user interfaces for functionality, performance, and conformity to design standards; manage and maintain test-loaned AR/VR hardware and lab inventory.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with developers, QA leads, and DevX test engineering teams to align on architecture, quality metrics, and test strategy.

Basic Qualifications

• Education: BS/MS in Computer Science, IT, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience: 4+ years of quality assurance engineering experience spanning both manual testing and test automation development.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in programming/scripting languages such as Python, Java, C/C++, or TypeScript; strong experience with Linux/Unix or Windows environments.
• QA & Automation Expertise: Solid background in manual functional/exploratory testing, test planning, bug tracking, and developing automated E2E test suites with CI/CD integration (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI).

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience testing and debugging physical AR/VR headsets, mobile devices, and Android Emulators / iOS Simulators.
• Strong capability to gather quality metrics, architect test frameworks, and eliminate test suite flakiness.
• Experience with API/backend testing, performance profiling, and test data mocking in emulator and device lab environments.
• Familiarity with 3D/graphics engines (Unity, Unreal) or XR developer workflows.
