We are seeking a highly motivated SDET / QA Engineer II to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of our software products. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in test automation, API testing, functional testing, and CI/CD practices. This role requires close collaboration with developers, product managers, and DevOps teams to build and maintain scalable quality assurance processes.
Key Responsibilities
Test Planning & Execution
- Analyze business and technical requirements and create comprehensive test strategies.
- Design, develop, execute, and maintain manual and automated test cases.
- Perform functional, integration, regression, system, and end-to-end testing.
- Identify, document, track, and verify defects throughout the software lifecycle.
Automation Testing
- Develop and maintain robust test automation frameworks.
- Create automated test scripts for web, mobile, APIs, and backend services.
- Improve test coverage and optimize automation execution time.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
API & Backend Testing
- Validate RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Perform database validation and data integrity testing.
- Develop automated API test suites using industry-standard tools.
Quality Engineering
- Participate in requirement reviews, design discussions, and sprint planning.
- Conduct root cause analysis for production issues and quality gaps.
- Monitor quality metrics and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Advocate quality best practices across engineering teams.
Collaboration
- Work closely with developers to ensure defect prevention and early testing.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams on deployment validation and release readiness.
- Mentor junior QA engineers and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 3-6 years of experience in Software Testing, QA, or SDET roles.
- Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, Agile, and Scrum methodologies.
- Experience with test automation frameworks and scripting.
- Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working with defect management tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
Technical Skills
Must Have
- Automation Testing using Selenium, Cypress, or equivalent.
- Programming knowledge in Java, JavaScript, or C#.
- API Testing using Postman, Rest Assured, or similar tools.
- SQL and database testing.
- Git version control.
- CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or GitLab CI.
Good to Have
- Performance testing using JMeter, LoadRunner, or k6.
- Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Security testing fundamentals.
- Experience with microservices architecture.
