QA Engineer

About the role

We are a fast-growing SaaS product company building configurable software for clients in the leisure and membership space. Having recently closed a new round of investment, we are expanding the engineering team and adding dedicated quality assurance, so our developers can stay focused on the harder deliverables while every core flow stays reliable.

This is a hands-on QA role. You will own the testing and debugging of our releases across several different client projects, each with its own codebase, requirements, and software setup. It suits someone who enjoys variety, is comfortable switching context between projects, and wants to grow their technical depth in a genuinely fast-moving environment.

This is a fully remote position.

What you will do

• Run manual QA across our core user flows to make sure everything works as expected before and during release.
• Debug failing tests and identify the underlying cause rather than simply reporting that a test failed, so developers receive a clear starting point for the fix.
• Take on the QA that currently sits with our developers, so a dedicated pair of eyes confirms the core flows instead of the team peer-reviewing each other's work.
• Work across multiple client codebases and software environments, adapting quickly to different requirements and contexts.
• Carry out smoke, regression, and UAT testing, weighted towards work in active development since our live product is stable and we release frequently.
• Perform API testing and support quality within our CI/CD pipelines.
• Where useful, write your own automation scripts to speed up repetitive checks.

Experience

3 to 5 years in a QA or software testing role. This range reflects the real scope of the work, which goes beyond entry-level manual testing into API testing, CI/CD, and root-cause debugging across multiple projects.

Must have

• Solid manual QA and functional testing experience.
• API testing experience.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong debugging and root-cause analysis, able to explain why something failed.
• Comfort working across multiple codebases and shifting project contexts.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• A proactive, self-directed working style.

Nice to have

• Ability to write automated test scripts.
• Exposure to test design and maintaining existing test suites.
• Genuine curiosity about the product and the industry, with an appetite to learn the more technical areas over time.

Working style

You will collaborate closely with our developers and occasionally with clients. We value people who take ownership, communicate clearly, and are curious enough to grow into the more technical parts of the work rather than needing everything spelled out.
