The Role
We are looking for a QA Architect to lead the quality strategy, automation vision, and testing
architecture across our engineering ecosystem. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in
modern testing frameworks, non-functional engineering, and quality-driven design, with a
strong ability to influence technical direction and elevate engineering standards.
This role offers the opportunity to partner with senior stakeholders, shape organisation-wide
QA practices, and drive the delivery of highly scalable, secure, and resilient software systems
within Reach's Core Platforms.
What You'll do
- QA Strategy: Define and drive long-term QA strategy, including Shift-Left, Shift-Right, and performance-focused practices.
- NFR Testing: Govern testing for performance, load, security, accessibility, and resilience across platforms.
- Architecture Input: Contribute to design reviews to embed quality checkpoints early in solution planning.
- Automation Frameworks: Lead the design and standardization of reusable automation frameworks and toolchains.
- CI/CD Integration: Integrate all test layers into CI/CD pipelines to achieve automated and reliable quality gates.
- Test Data Management: Establish scalable, secure, and reusable test data solutions to support diverse testing needs.
- Technical Consultation: Provide expert guidance to engineering leaders on advanced QA tools and best practices.
- Team Mentoring: Coach QA engineers and developers to improve automation, code quality, and observability skills.
- Quality Metrics: Define KPIs and build dashboards to monitor system health and pipeline performance.
- Collaboration: Work with internal teams and vendors to deliver cohesive, organisation- wide QA frameworks.
What Makes You a Good Fit
- Strong hands-on expertise in test automation architecture with a track record of building scalable, language-agnostic frameworks.
- Proficient in modern testing methodologies, API/UI automation, service virtualization, and performance engineering.
- Experienced in leading enterprise-wide QA strategies, including effective shift-left and quality transformation initiatives.
- Skilled in programming (Python/JavaScript) and integrating robust testing practices within AWS and CI/CD environments.
- Able to interpret complex system and performance metrics to proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks.
- Adept at coaching teams and influencing senior leaders, backed by strong interpersonal and consultative skills.
