Purpose of the Role:
To ensure dyed fabric meets customer and company quality standards by monitoring fabric quality throughout the dyeing process, conducting inspections, resolving quality issues, maintaining accurate quality records, and supporting smooth production and timely delivery. The role plays a key part in achieving consistent product quality and continuous process improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Fabric Quality Inspection
- Conduct quality inspections of dyed fabric at different stages of the dyeing process.
- Identify fabric defects and ensure quality standards are maintained throughout production.
- Perform shade checking to ensure consistency with approved customer and production standards.
- Support production teams in maintaining the required quality levels.
2. Quality Analysis & Issue Resolution
- Review internal and external quality reports to identify defects and quality trends.
- Investigate the root cause of quality issues and support corrective and preventive actions.
- Handle customer and internal quality complaints and ensure timely resolution.
- Work closely with production and laboratory teams to minimize recurring quality issues.
3. Quality Documentation & SAP Management
- Record inspection findings accurately and maintain complete quality records.
- Perform SAP entries related to quality inspections and reporting.
- Maintain proper documentation of lab dips, Pre-Production (PP) samples, and other quality records.
- Ensure all quality documents are updated and readily available for audits and reference.
4. Process Compliance & Continuous Improvement
- Ensure all quality inspection activities comply with company procedures and quality standards.
- Monitor shift-wise quality activities and ensure smooth execution of quality processes.
- Coordinate with production, laboratory, and quality teams to improve product quality.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality performance and reduce defects.
Key Skills and Competencies Required:
- Strong knowledge of fabric quality standards, defects, and fault identification.
- Good understanding of fabric dyeing processes and shade evaluation.
- Hands-on experience with SAP for quality inspections and reporting.
- Ability to analyze quality reports and identify root causes of defects.
- Good documentation and record management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage shift responsibilities.
Qualifications:
Educational Background: Bachelor's Degree in Textile Engineering, Textile Technology, or a related discipline.
Experience: 5–10 years of experience in fabric quality, preferably in a textile dyeing or processing industry.
