The QA Lead is responsible for overseeing the quality assurance process, ensuring software products meet the highest quality standards before release. This role involves leading a team of QA engineers, defining testing strategies, automating test processes, and collaborating with development teams to enhance product reliability and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand end-to-end project requirements and translate them into effective test strategies.
- Plan, design, and execution of comprehensive test cases and test scenarios.
- Conduct all types of manual testing including functional, regression, integration, system, UAT, and exploratory testing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, business analysts and clients to ensure product quality.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams, clarify requirements, and report on test progress and issues.
- Identify, document, and track bugs using JIRA or similar tools; ensure timely resolution through active follow-up.
- Contribute to and improve the overall SDLC process and Agile practices in the team.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Prepare and present detailed test reports and quality metrics to stakeholders and clients.
Required Skills & Experience
- Manual testing with a solid grasp of test processes and methodologies.
- Strong knowledge of SDLC, STLC, and Agile frameworks.
- Hands-on experience in writing clear and comprehensive test cases, test plans, and bug reports.
- Proficiency with JIRA, Confluence, and other test/project management tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact with international clients confidently.
- Proven experience in client management and stakeholder communication.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to basic API testing, Postman, or database validation is a plus.
- Understanding of test automation concepts (even if not hands-on) is a bonus.
