Associate - Project Management (Cost Management & Bill Certification) | Mumbai

Job Description Summary

We are seeking an Associate to support project management, cost management, and bill certification activities across interior fit-out, retail, and construction projects. The role involves cost estimation, BOQ preparation and validation, site inspections, bill certification, stakeholder coordination, quality review, and ensuring timely delivery of project requirements.

About the Role

As an Associate, you will be responsible for supporting project execution through detailed cost estimation, bill certification, site monitoring, and technical validation activities. You will work closely with internal teams, consultants, contractors, and clients to ensure project quality, cost efficiency, and compliance with established standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop detailed project cost estimates for interior fit-out, retail, commercial, and mixed-use projects, including civil, MEP, finishing works, external development, consultant fees, and associated construction costs.
  • Prepare and review BOQ-level quantity take-offs, labour and material rate analyses, and cost benchmarking reports.
  • Conduct physical site visits to obtain primary project information, monitor work progress, assess project status, and prepare detailed observation reports.
  • Carry out bill certification and validation of contractor invoices based on work completed at site.
  • Review measurement sheets, progress reports, and documentation submitted by junior engineers, contractors, and cross-functional teams.
  • Evaluate and report on safety, quality, and compliance practices at project sites, highlighting risks and non-conformities.
  • Validate design briefs, technical specifications, and project requirements submitted by Electrical, HVAC, Fire Fighting, AV, and BMS vendors.
  • Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders to ensure timely execution and delivery of assignments.
  • Maintain project documentation, cost records, and reporting systems while ensuring adherence to company processes and quality standards.

About You

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Project Management, Cost Management, Quantity Surveying, or Bill Certification roles.
  • Experience in interior fit-out, commercial, retail, hospitality, or construction projects is preferred.

Desired Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of MEP services, interior fit-out projects, and finishing works.
  • Detailed knowledge of BOQs, quantity surveying principles, and cost estimation methodologies.
  • Expertise in bill certification, project costing, and rate analysis.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Sound technical knowledge of civil, architectural, electro-mechanical, and finishing works.
  • Excellent project management and stakeholder coordination capabilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • High attention to detail with strong reporting and documentation skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and project reporting tools.
