Medicare Hygiene Limited is an Ahmedabad-based manufacturer of surgical dressings and wound care products, trusted by hospitals, nursing homes and healthcare professionals across India. We are expanding our Quality team and looking for a QC Chemist.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role at our Ahmedabad facility. You will handle testing and inspection of raw materials, packing materials and in-process products, maintain laboratory systems, and support quality release in line with ISO 13485:2016.

Experience: 2-3 years

Qualification: B.Sc / M.Sc (Chemistry)

Preferred industry: Chemical / Medical Device / Pharma

Key Responsibilities

  • Sampling, testing and inspection of raw materials and packing materials as per specification.
  • Follow-up of supplier test reports.
  • Monitoring and preservation of residual samples.
  • Report generation with protocol.
  • Preparation of chemicals and lab reagents; standardization of lab solutions.
  • Daily lab monitoring: room temperature and humidity, daily balance and pH meter calibration, distilled water preparation and checking.
  • Maintaining chemical stock records.
  • Follow-up and monitoring of instrument calibration.
  • In-process checks as per quality plan and specification.
  • Identifying, raising and following up in-process non-conformities until closure.
  • Line clearance.
  • Verification of codes, labels and packing quantity until finished goods release and warehouse transfer.
  • BMR verification and online documentation.
  • ISO 13485:2016 system management, audit support and NCR closure.
  • Monitoring rejection reports until disposition.
  • Supporting QC release verification.
  • Ensuring correct Approved / Rejected / Under Test labels, floor item identification and traceability.
  • Raising change notes and suggestions.
  • Coordination of external product testing and reports.
  • Active participation in continuous improvement and new product development activities.
  • Artwork preparation and checking.
  • Any additional tasks assigned by the QA/QC Head and Management.

Requirements

  • B.Sc / M.Sc in Chemistry with 2-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Background in medical device, pharma or chemical industry preferred.
  • Understanding of ISO 13485:2016 & CE EU MDR 2017/745.
  • Hands-on experience with lab instruments.
  • Strong documentation skills and attention to detail.
