Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced Assistant Manager - QA/QC to join our dynamic construction team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in ensuring quality standards, implementing quality control systems, and managing construction processes in line with industry benchmarks. This role requires a proactive approach to quality assurance, audits, and continuous improvement across projects.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Control & Assurance
- Develop and implement QA/QC procedures for various construction activities
- Monitor construction processes to ensure compliance with specifications, drawings, and standards
- Inspect materials, equipment, and work areas for quality and conformity
- Supervise quality control tests and inspections including concrete, soil, welding, and structural integrity
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain quality documentation such as inspection records, test reports, and compliance certificates
- Prepare and submit reports on quality issues, non-conformities, and corrective actions
- Coordinate with project managers to document quality results and close discrepancies
Standards & Procedures
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental guidelines, and relevant codes of practice
- Assist in developing project quality plans, manuals, SOPs, and inspection checklists
- Guide project teams on quality procedures and best practices
Inspection & Audits
- Conduct routine inspections of ongoing construction activities
- Perform audits of subcontractors and vendors for quality and contractual compliance
- Lead or support internal and external audits and ensure corrective actions
Collaboration & Coordination
- Liaise with architects, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders on quality matters
- Work closely with site and project teams to resolve QA/QC issues
- Conduct training for junior QA/QC staff and ensure adherence to quality policies
Skills & Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
- 7-10 years of experience (DCE not acceptable)
- Certifications in QA/QC such as ISO 9001 or Six Sigma are an added advantage
Experience
- 7-10 years of hands-on QA/QC experience in PEB or Oil & Gas industry
- Strong exposure to RCC, structural steel fabrication & erection, interior finishes, and MEP works
- Experience handling large-scale projects worth 200 Cr or above
- Experience managing multiple site locations
- Willingness to travel across India
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, testing procedures, IS Codes, and standards
- Experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS)
- Preparation of SOPs, project quality plans, ITPs, checklists, and construction methodologies
- Conducting regular trainings and onsite audits
- Preparation of weekly and monthly MIS reports
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
