Key Responsibilities:
Incoming Material Inspection
- Perform inward inspection of plates, pipes, tubes, forgings, fittings, fabricated items, machined components, and bought-out items.
- Verify material specifications, certifications, dimensions, and quality requirements as per applicable standards and project specifications.
- Ensure traceability and compliance of incoming materials.
Quality Assurance & Quality Control
- Ensure strict adherence to Quality Assurance Plans (QAP) during inward, in-process, and final inspections.
- Monitor manufacturing and fabrication activities to ensure compliance with approved procedures and quality standards.
- Identify and address quality deviations through corrective and preventive actions.
Inspection & Testing
- Conduct in-process and final inspections of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, columns, and other static equipment.
- Verify fabrication, welding, dimensional accuracy, and assembly activities.
- Witness and coordinate hydrostatic testing, non-destructive testing (NDT), and final acceptance inspections.
Documentation & Procedure Development
- Prepare Quality Assurance Plans (QAP) based on customer and project requirements.
- Develop and maintain NDT procedures, hydro test procedures, painting procedures, and weld plans.
- Prepare project-specific WPS, PQR, WPQ, and WOPQ documentation.
- Ensure proper maintenance and control of quality records and inspection reports.
Third-Party Inspection Coordination
- Coordinate with Third-Party Inspection Agencies (TPIA) for scheduled inspections.
- Ensure inspections are offered as per approved QAP and customer specifications.
- Facilitate successful inspections and obtain release notes and approvals from inspection authorities.
Code & Standards Compliance
- Ensure compliance with ASME and IBR codes applicable to pressure vessel manufacturing and inspection.
- Interpret and apply requirements of ASME Section VIII Div. 1 & Div. 2, Section II A/B/C, Section IX, and IBR standards.
- Support audits and quality reviews to ensure regulatory and customer compliance.
Customer & Stakeholder Coordination
- Maintain effective communication with customers, inspectors, and internal departments regarding quality-related activities.
- Resolve inspection and quality issues in coordination with project and production teams.
- Participate in quality review meetings and provide technical support on QA/QC matters.
Continuous Improvement
- Recommend process improvements to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
- Support implementation of best practices in fabrication, welding, inspection, and testing processes.
