JD - QA Manager
Role Summary
The QA Manager owns quality strategy, automation effectiveness, and release confidence for a growing SaaS platform. This role balances people leadership, technical depth, and business risk management.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and evolve end-to-end QA & automation strategy
- Lead Manual QA + SDETs across multiple product teams
- Own release readiness, sign-off, and quality metrics
- Drive shift-left testing and reduce escaped defects
- Ensure automation is high-value, stable, and scalable
- Partner with Engineering, Product, DevOps, and Support
- Hire, mentor, and grow QA & SDET talent
Automation Expectations
- Hands-on capability to write & review automation code
- Personally codes occasionally to:
- Unblock teams
- Set standards
- Validate approaches
- NOT expected to be a daily automation IC
Required Skills
- 1014 years in QA / Quality Engineering
- 46 years in QA leadership roles
- Strong automation knowledge (UI + API)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines
- SaaS, Agile, and cloud-native experience
Nice to Have
- Performance testing exposure
- Security testing awareness
- Experience scaling QA teams
