This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a QA Lead - Functional QA & Release Quality Management in India.
This role is a senior quality leadership position focused on owning end-to-end QA execution and release readiness for complex, high-security digital platforms. You will be responsible for ensuring the quality, stability, and reliability of product releases across web, API, mobile, cloud, and containerized environments. The position requires a strong blend of hands-on functional QA expertise and strategic release governance, with a focus on data-driven quality insights and risk assessment. You will play a critical role in defining testing strategies, validating system behavior, and ensuring production readiness across multiple engineering teams. This is a highly collaborative role where you will work closely with engineering, product, and release stakeholders to drive quality standards. The role also involves mentoring QA engineers and strengthening overall QA maturity within the organization.
Accountabilities
- Own QA execution and overall quality assurance for ongoing product releases across multiple platforms
- Design and implement complex test strategies, including failure scenarios and edge-case validation
- Lead end-to-end testing activities including sanity, regression, integration, and system testing
- Perform database testing to ensure data consistency, accuracy, and integrity across systems
- Analyze issues across distributed environments including Linux, AWS, containers, and cloud-native infrastructure
- Define, track, and report QA metrics to assess release readiness and quality trends
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and release management teams to ensure alignment on quality goals
- Provide go/no-go recommendations based on risk analysis and release quality assessment
- Mentor and guide QA team members to improve testing practices and technical capabilities
Requirements
- 6-8 years of experience in functional QA with proven QA lead or release ownership responsibilities
- Strong understanding of QA methodologies, metrics, and release quality governance
- Hands-on experience with web, mobile, API, database, AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes testing environments
- Experience in designing comprehensive test strategies and managing complex QA cycles
- Strong analytical and debugging skills across distributed and cloud-based systems
- Excellent communication skills with ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including engineering, product, and release management
- Exposure to AI-based productivity or testing tools is a plus
- Strong leadership mindset with ability to mentor and guide QA teams effectively
