Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced QA Lead (Manual) with strong domain expertise in Loans & Disbursement within the Banking/Financial Services sector.

The ideal candidate will lead end-to-end testing strategies, ensure the accuracy of complex financial workflows, and drive quality assurance initiatives across lending systems. This role requires deep domain understanding, strong analytical skills, and hands-on expertise in API and database validation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and drive the testing strategy for Loans and Disbursement modules, ensuring alignment with business logic and regulatory requirements
  • Develop comprehensive test plans, risk assessments, and traceability matrices
  • Oversee end-to-end validation of complex scenarios such as credit scoring, loan onboarding, interest calculations, escrow management, and multi-channel disbursement (ACH, Wire, Check)
  • Perform and supervise API testing (REST/SOAP) and complex database validation to ensure data integrity and transaction accuracy
  • Lead, mentor, and conduct peer reviews for a team of QA engineers, fostering a high-quality delivery culture
  • Manage the defect lifecycle, prioritize issues based on business/financial impact, and collaborate closely with development and product teams
  • Ensure test coverage, quality metrics, and timely delivery across releases
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective test scenarios

Technical & Domain Requirements

Domain Expertise

  • Strong understanding of Lending Lifecycle: Origination, Underwriting, Servicing, and Disbursement
  • Knowledge of amortization schedules, interest accruals, and reconciliation processes

API Testing

  • Proficiency in tools such as Postman, Swagger, or SoapUI
  • Ability to validate JSON/XML responses and execute chained API workflows

Database / SQL

  • Strong experience in writing complex SQL queries (Joins, Subqueries, Unions)
  • Ability to validate backend data, audit trails, and financial records

Tools & Technologies

  • Test Management: JIRA, Zephyr, TestRail
  • Log Monitoring: Splunk, CloudWatch
  • Methodologies: Agile / Scrum

Required Skills & Experience

  • 8+ years of experience in Quality Assurance with a focus on Manual Testing
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a Lead or Senior QA role
  • Strong experience in Banking, Financial Services, or FinTech domain
  • Hands-on experience in API testing and backend/database validation
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Skills

  • Deep expertise in Loans, Disbursement, and reconciliation processes
  • Ability to test and validate complex financial calculations and workflows
  • Exposure to automation testing frameworks (added advantage)
  • Experience working in large-scale enterprise applications

Relevant Experience Preferred

  • Experience in IT/ITES or product organizations within the BFSI domain
  • Exposure to regulatory compliance and financial audit processes
  • Experience working with distributed teams and cross-functional stakeholders

Qualification

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field
