Role Overview Description

We are looking for a QA Engineer (Contract) with at least 1 year of experience in testing desktop applications (preferably Electron-based on macOS). You will be responsible for manual and automated testing of our Electron app, ensuring stability, usability, and smooth integration with macOS system features.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute test cases for macOS Electron apps, covering installation, uninstallation, functional flows, and UI.
• Perform manual testing across different macOS versions (Sonoma, Ventura, Monterey) and hardware (Intel & Apple Silicon).
• Validate system-level integrations (permissions, notifications, dock, file dialogs).
• Assist in automation testing using Playwright/WebdriverIO/Appium for desktop.
• Debug issues by checking console logs, crash reports, and Electron logs.
• Verify auto-update flows and installer packages (.dmg, .pkg).
• Collaborate with developers and product teams to reproduce, log, and track defects.
• Document clear test cases, test reports, and bug reports in Jira/TestRail/Zephyr

Key Requirements:.

• 1+ of QA experience, with exposure to desktop or web applications.
• Familiarity with macOS environment (app installation, system preferences, permissions).
• Hands-on experience with manual functional/UI testing.
• Basic understanding of automation tools (Playwright, WebdriverIO, or Appium).
• Comfort with command-line tools (bash/zsh) for log collection and simple scripts.
• Good analytical and debugging skills (reading logs, identifying crashes).
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
