Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Electronics, Information Technology, or related
engineering discipline (or equivalent industry experience).
• 6–10+ years of experience in software testing / QA engineering, preferably in industrial
communication or embedded systems domains.
• Strong experience in protocol testing, validation, and system integration testing.
• Hands-on experience validating industrial communication protocols, including:
o DNP3
o SNMP
o IEC 61850
o Modbus
• Experience in testing and validating communication and file transfer protocols,
including:
o FTP
o FTPS
o SFTP
o TFTP
o HTTP
o ASCII-based protocols
o YMODEM
o XMODEM
• Strong experience in network testing, packet analysis, and protocol validation using
tools such as:
o Wireshark
o tcpdump
o Other network analyzers
• Hands-on experience with Docker for test environment setup, deployment validation,
and container-based testing.
• Ability to interpret vendor manuals and technical documentation to design test cases
and validate device behavior.
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional Agile teams.
Essential Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and execute manual automated test cases for C# / C++-based
communication systems.
• Validate and test industrial communication protocol stacks and device integration
solutions.
• Perform functional, integration, system, regression, and protocol compliance testing.
• Analyze system and customer requirements to derive test scenarios and acceptance
criteria.
• Perform protocol-level debugging, packet analysis, and root cause analysis of
communication issues.
• Validate interoperability between industrial devices, embedded systems, and software
applications.
• Test and verify file transfer and network communication protocols under different
conditions (load, failure, latency, etc.).
• Work with development teams to identify, log, and track defects using standard defect
management tools.
• Conduct ODBC/database testing, including connectivity, query validation, and data
integrity checks.
• Interpret vendor documentation to design device validation test plans.
• Collaborate with QA, development, product management, and customers to ensure
high-quality software delivery.
• Participate in test planning, reviews, and Agile ceremonies.
• Ensure quality through automation, continuous testing, and CI/CD integration.
• Contribute to improving test processes, frameworks, and automation coverage.
• Ensure systems meet performance, scalability, reliability, and compliance
requirements.
Good to Have
• Knowledge of TypeScript/JavaScript-based test automation frameworks.
• Experience with SCADA systems, industrial automation, or power systems testing.
• Familiarity with performance testing and load testing tools.
Exposure to industrial automation, SCADA, power systems, or embedded communication
software is an added advantage.
