Star Apps is looking for a detail-oriented and technically-driven
QA Engineer to join our product team in
Baner, Pune. In this role, you will move beyond simple bug-finding to focus on the
reliability and scalability of our SaaS platform.
The ideal candidate has a product-first mindset, having previously worked in
SaaS or Product-based environments, and possesses a strong understanding of how data moves through complex systems.
What You'll Do
- Test Engineering: Develop and maintain automated test suites (UI and API) to ensure high-quality releases.
- SaaS Integration: Work closely with Engineering teams to integrate automated tests into the pipeline.
- Bug Advocacy: Not just reporting bugs, but performing root-cause analysis to help developers fix issues at the source.
- Collaboration: Participate in sprint planning and design reviews to provide testability feedback early in the development cycle.
What We're Looking For
- The Product Lens: 1–3 years of experience specifically within SaaS or Product companies. You understand that quality isn't just about code, but about the user's journey.
- Technical Proficiency: Proven experience with automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright) and API testing tools (e.g., Postman, RestAssured).
- System Logic: Ability to test backend workflows, including logic involving queues, webhooks, and third-party integrations.
- On-site Energy: A desire to work out of our Baner office 5 days a week, contributing to a high-collaboration, face-to-face team environment.
- Education: A degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related technical field.
Preferred Skills
- Basic understanding of SQL for data verification.
- Experience with performance testing or security testing basics.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
