About the Role

As a QA Engineer II at Swiss Re's L&H Solutions, you'll be at the heart of delivering high-quality, cloud-native SaaS/PaaS solutions to Life & Health insurance clients across the globe. This is not just a testing role - it's an opportunity to shape quality engineering practices, drive automation innovation, and collaborate with a talented, multidisciplinary team that is transforming the insurance industry. You'll work across front-end and back-end environments, contribute to CI/CD pipelines, and help ensure our products are reliable, scalable, and secure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain automation test scripts using UFT, ensuring comprehensive test coverage across application releases

  • Analyze and debug Java/J2EE issues, applying deep technical understanding to identify root causes and drive resolution

  • Understand application functionality end-to-end and translate business requirements and use cases into effective, meaningful test scenarios

  • Develop and execute test scripts derived from use cases and requirements, ensuring alignment with functional and non-functional specifications

  • Analyze, communicate, and track defects through to closure, collaborating closely with developers and stakeholders to maintain quality standards

  • Maintain and evolve test suites across multiple application releases, keeping automation assets current and relevant

  • Research and continuously improve automation frameworks, staying ahead of industry trends and adopting best practices

  • Champion automation best practices across the team, contributing to a culture of quality and continuous improvement

  • Build and support CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and Azure DevOps, integrating automated tests seamlessly into the development workflow

  • Execute performance, penetration, and security testing, identifying vulnerabilities and scalability bottlenecks before they reach production

At L&H Solutions, we build and commercialize cloud-native (Azure-based) SaaS/PaaS solutions for Swiss Re Life & Health insurance clients. We offer a portfolio of over six products, including established offerings like Magnum - with over 60 active clients worldwide - and innovative products such as UW Ease. We function as a software house within Swiss Re, bringing together more than 150 technical professionals with multidisciplinary skills across multiple countries to deliver multi-regional, highly available solutions that are transforming the insurance industry. About You

You are a technically strong, curious, and collaborative quality engineering professional who takes pride in building systems that work - and catching the ones that don't. You bring a proactive mindset, a passion for continuous improvement, and the ability to communicate clearly across technical and business teams. You thrive in agile environments, embrace DevOps culture, and are always looking for smarter ways to ensure software quality at scale.

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in Software Development, Testing Automation, and DevOps, with a strong background in Enterprise Java (Java/J2EE)

  • Hands-on expertise in test automation frameworks including Selenium, WebDriver, Grid, Cucumber, TestNG, JUnit, JMeter, and BlazerMeter, with proven experience in REST API testing, data validation, and integration testing

  • Proficiency in front-end test automation using UI technologies such as Angular, ReactJS/DHTML, Karma, Cypress, Jest, Mocha, Enzyme, and Jasmine

  • Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and Azure DevOps (Repos, Pipelines), including working knowledge of Azure Data Factory

  • Solid knowledge of SQL and/or NoSQL databases, with the ability to write and analyze complex queries in both front-end and back-end QA environments

These are additional nice to haves:

  • Experience with automation tools and frameworks such as WDIO, Coded UI, SoapUI, Postman, Protractor, Rest Assured, TestComplete, and Py-test

  • Familiarity with performance, scalability, penetration, and security testing methodologies and tools

  • Experience testing Generative AI and Large Language Model (LLM) applications, including prompt validation, response evaluation, hallucination detection, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) workflows

  • Knowledge of Agile methodology, Git, and JIRA in a collaborative team environment

  • Domain knowledge of underwriting processes or Life & Health insurance business is a valuable plus

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field a Master's degree is an added advantage


Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office at least three days per week.
