Role Overview / Scope Of Work
The QA Tester will support comprehensive testing and documentation of cloud applications and programs, ensuring timely delivery within budget and quality standards. The role involves verifying and validating processes through testing, code inspection, and CMMI-compliant methodologies. The selected candidate will work closely with business users, IT build teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to develop test strategies, execute manual/automated testing, manage defects, and ensure production readiness across System, Integration, and UAT phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and implement System/UAT testing strategy, test plans, scenarios, and cases aligned with CMMI standards.
- Create test estimation templates and identify automation candidates among test cases.
- Maintain business requirement-to-test result traceability matrices.
- Develop automation scripts for test cases using tools like UFT, Selenium.
- Execute manual and automated tests (System, SIT, UAT, functional/UI, black box/white box) across multiple cycles.
- Perform data migration testing and reconcile source/target systems during production cutover.
- Triage defects with development/build teams and business users; retest fixes and certify progression to next phases.
- Share test reports and status updates with Project/Test Managers.
- Support UT, UAT, performance testing as needed and participate in PPQA reviews/audits.
- Document standards, guidelines, installation guides, and user manuals for test automation suites (e.g., Mercury, QTP).
- Train team members on automation tools and provide process leadership/best practices.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, requirements reviews, team meetings, and production support/troubleshooting.
- Identify, report, and track defects; provide testing status reports and risk communication to project teams.
Required Skills & Experience
- 3+ years of experience as QA Automation/Manual Tester working under minimal supervision on cloud applications.
- Strong knowledge of Azure Test Plans and Azure DevOps (ADO) for test management.
- Hands-on experience with test automation suites like UFT, Selenium.
- Proven ability to collaborate with application managers, DBAs, sysadmins, and stakeholders.
- Excellent listening/communication skills to identify cultural/organizational constraints impacting procedures.
- High maturity in CMMI-compliant processes and ability to guide/select value-adding procedures.
- Good understanding of Azure, Azure SQL, MSSQL environments.
- Experience in test strategy design, defect triage, retesting, and production support.

- Advanced knowledge of Cloud architecture (Kubernetes, security, encryption protocols).
- Proficiency in at least one OS (Linux, Unix, Windows).
- Working knowledge of Agile/DevOps methodologies.
- Strong process analysis skills with ability to recommend efficiency improvements based on industry best practices.
- Conceptual, analytical, judgmental skills for requirement completeness and data quality rules.
- Excellent verbal/written communication for technical/non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Certifications
- Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP)
- ISTQB Certified Tester (Foundation Level or higher)
Desired Skills (Nice To Have)
- Experience in Enterprise Data Warehouse projects.
- Knowledge of Data Governance and data quality issue identification.
- Azure DevOps (ADO) experience specifically for testing workflows.
