QA Automation Engineer Systems & Storage (Remote, India)
We are seeking a highly skilled QA Automation Engineer with strong systems knowledge to validate complex, large-scale, distributed, and clustered storage systems. This role requires a deep understanding of Linux internals, storage stacks, and high availability systems, along with the ability to design robust test strategies for mission-critical enterprise software. You will work closely with engineering teams to ensure the reliability, performance, and resilience of enterprise storage solutions.
This is a 12-month contract project (extensions possible), 40 hours per week, remote role in India.
Responsibilities
- Design and execute test strategies for file systems, volume managers, and clustering components.
- Validate high availability (HA) and failover mechanisms under real-world failure scenarios.
- Build and maintain automated test frameworks for system-level validation.
- Test large-scale distributed and clustered environments for performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Simulate failure conditions (node crashes, disk failures, network partitions) and validate system recovery.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for complex defects and production issues.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, SRE, and Support teams to improve product quality.
- Contribute to continuous testing pipelines and release validation.
- Validate InfoScale integration for clustered storage and HA environments.
Requirements
- 5+ years of QA or systems testing experience.
- Strong experience in system-level testing (not just UI/API).
- Solid understanding of Linux internals (processes, memory, I/O, file systems).
- Experience with storage systems, file systems, or IO stack testing.
- Hands-on experience in test automation (Python, Shell, or similar).
- Experience with InfoScale integration and testing clustered storage/High availability systems.
- Exposure to performance and stress testing tools.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes or distributed systems environments.
