QA Automation Engineer

This is a remote position.

We are looking for a hands-on QA Lead who can take ownership of product quality across backend services, web, and mobile applications. The role requires strong backend/API automation expertise, solid QA leadership, and the ability to communicate confidently with clients and engineering teams. A key focus of this role will be improving QA efficiency through AI-assisted and AI-driven automation. We are looking for practical experience applying AI within real QA workflows.
Responsibilities

• 4+ years of experience in QA automation, SDET, or mobile test automation roles.
  
• Work with Playwright, Appium, Maestro, and React Testing Library.
  
• Write scalable tests using semantic locators and reusable test patterns.
  
• Optimize large test suites through sharding, parallel execution, retries, and rerunning failed suites.
  
• Integrate QA automation into CI/CD pipelines.
  
• Generate nightly QA reports and track test health.
  
• Debug flaky tests and improve test reliability.
  
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to improve release quality.
  
  

Requirements

• 4–5+ years of QA / Quality Engineering experience.
  
• Strong backend/API automation experience.
  
• Strong understanding of automation framework design.
  
• Experience with API testing and database validation.
  
• Experience integrating automation into CI/CD.
  
• Familiarity with Playwright.
  
• Hands-on experience incorporating AI into QA automation workflows.
  
• Git and standard software development workflows.
  

Preferred

• Node.js / JavaScript automation experience.
  
• Maestro for mobile automation.
  
• PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.
  
• Experience testing microservices and distributed systems.
  
• Experience with queues, asynchronous processing, or event-driven systems.
  
• Cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  
• Performance/load testing exposure.
  
• Leadership & Client Management
  
• This is not a purely execution-focused QA role. The candidate should be comfortable operating as the QA owner for a project.
