About Position
This role requires a strong sense of ownership, decision-making capability, and the ability to drive QA initiatives end-to-end. As a key member of a cross-functional Agile team, the individual will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our Shopify-based eCommerce platform, with a balanced focus on both automation and manual testing. The role involves leading QA efforts, establishing and improving QA processes, mentoring team members, and ensuring high standards of quality across deliverables. The position emphasizes end-to-end ownership of quality across the SDLC, including test strategy, execution, defect management, and CI/CD-driven delivery pipelines, supporting global marketing initiatives

What You'll Do
- As a Senior / Lead QA Automation Engineer, you will: Identify and assess suitable technology stacks, and lead the design, architecture, and development of robust QA automation frameworks.
- Lead end-to-end QA activities throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Lead and manage QA activities across the team, ensuring effective collaboration and delivery of high-quality outcomes.
- Drive strategic QA initiatives to enhance overall product quality, test efficiency, and release confidence.
- Establish, standardise, and continuously improve QA processes, frameworks, and best practices across projects. Monitor quality metrics, identify gaps, and implement corrective actions to continuously improve product quality.
- Define and enforce quality gates, standards, and governance across the SDLC. Foster a quality-first mindset within cross-functional teams, promoting accountability for quality at every stage. Design, write, review, and maintain detailed test cases and scenarios. Execute automation and manual testing using risk-based approaches.
- Strong hands-on experience in automation, not limited to leadership or oversight roles.
- Design, develop, maintain, and enhance automation test frameworks. Perform multiple types of testing, including Functional, Integration, System, API and End-to-End (E2E) testing. Perform testing across web and mobile platforms, ensuring cross-browser and cross-device compatibility. Work closely with developers and product owners to ensure testability and quality.
- Demonstrates deep problem-solving skills with structured thinking, beyond surface-level analysis Ability to make and clearly articulate technical decisions Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills Integrate automated test execution into CI/CD pipelines.
- Lead defect management activities (logging, triage, prioritization, tracking, RCA). Define and maintain Test Strategy, Test Plans, and Test Estimations. Mentor QA engineers and promote best practices across the team.
Expertise You'll Bring
- Required Skills & Experience: 8 to15 years of overall QA experience, with strong focus on automation testing. Extensive hands-on experience with manual and automation testing.
- Strong understanding of SDLC models and QA ownership at each stage. Proven expertise in test case design, execution, and defect management.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Hands-on experience with: Automation frameworks and tools: (Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or equivalent) Version control systems: Git CI/CD tools: Jenkins, GitHub, or similar tool.
- Hands-on experience testing RESTful APIs and backend services. Strong understanding of API testing concepts, including: Request/response validation HTTP status codes and error handling Authentication and authorization mechanisms
- Experience with API testing tools such as Postman, Swagger / OpenAPI, REST Assured. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.Use Claude Code experience to improve development productivity, code quality, analysis, and technical problem-solving where applicable.
- Write clean, reusable, maintainable, and well-documented code following coding standards and best practices.
- Optimize application performance, database queries, and API integrations to ensure scalability and reliability.
