QA Automation Engineer

About the Role:
we are looking for a QA Automation Engineer who is passionate about building reliable, scalable, and maintainable test automation solutions. The role requires a strong combination of automation testing and manual testing expertise, with hands-on experience in Selenium, API testing, automation frameworks, and CI/CD.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of software quality practices and be comfortable working closely with developers, business analysts, and QA teams in an Agile environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, maintain, and enhance automated test scripts using Selenium WebDriver.
- Build and maintain scalable automation frameworks using Page Object Model (POM), Hybrid, and Data-Driven approaches.
- Create reusable automation components and utilities to improve test coverage, stability, and maintainability.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, system, and exploratory testing.
- Design and execute API test cases and automation using REST Assured.
- Integrate automated test suites with Jenkins CI/CD pipelines and support continuous testing practices.
- Use Git for source code management, branching, merging, and version control.
- Analyze automation failures, identify root causes, and troubleshoot application and test script issues.
- Identify, document, track, and verify defects throughout the testing lifecycle.
- Prepare and maintain test cases, test scenarios, test data, automation scripts, and relevant QA documentation.
- Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, product teams, and other QA engineers to ensure product quality.
- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Contribute to improving test automation coverage, framework reliability, execution efficiency, and overall QA processes.
- Identify opportunities to automate repetitive testing activities and continuously improve the team's quality engineering practices.
Mandatory Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver.
- Strong understanding of Manual Testing and software testing methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with Page Object Model (POM).
- Experience developing or working with Hybrid Automation Frameworks.
- Experience with Data-Driven Testing / Data-Driven Frameworks.
- Hands-on experience in API Testing using REST Assured.
- Experience integrating automation suites with Jenkins / CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong knowledge of Git and version control.
- Good understanding of Functional and Regression Testing.
- Strong knowledge of SDLC and STLC.
- Good defect management, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.
- Good understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Good to Have
- Experience working with enterprise-scale applications.
- Experience with test automation framework design and optimization.
- Exposure to SQL/database validation.
- Exposure to Maven or Gradle.
- Knowledge of cross-browser testing and test execution strategies.
- Experience working with CI/CD-based test execution and reporting.
